Oven Fried Chicken

Do you enjoy fried chicken from time to time but would rather not deal with the frying, oil, monitoring the pan etc ...? Would you like a less fatty, healthier option but still retain flavor? Yes you say? Oven Fried Chicken is the answer to your needs! Follow my recipe and you will be in for a tasty, guilt free treat!




Ingredients
2 lbs skinless chicken (I used thighs with bone in)
2 tbs adobo all purpose seasoning
1 tbs all spice
1 tbs paprika
1 tsp ground black pepper
2 tsp minced garlic
3 tbs butter

For egg wash
1 egg
1/2 cup regular almond milk
1 tsp Louisiana hot sauce

For flour dredge
1 cup all purpose flour
2 tbs Italian herb seasoning
1 tsp chili powder
1 tsp ground black pepper
1 satchet goya sazon (con culantro y achiote)
1 stachet goya sazon (sin achiote)

You will need roasting pan with a grill rack.

Preparation
*Clean chicken with the juice of one lime and remove excess fat. Rinse under cool running water then set in a deep dish for seasoning.

  • Season chicken with adobo seasoning, black pepper, all spice, garlic, paprika. Combine well, coating all pieces of chicken. Set aside for 30 minutes. 
  • Preheat your oven to 400F
  • Combine all ingredient for flour dredge and set aside in a large platter
  • Prepare egg wash and set aside in a bowl
  • Take chicken pieces one at a time and dip in egg wash, then dredge in flour mixture twice. Make sure the chicken in completely covered in flour. Shake to remove excess flour then place on grill rack. Repeat the sequence with each piece of chicken

  • Melt butter and brush over each piece of chicken
  • Place in the oven for 45 minutes

  1. This recipe was great!!! i love fry chicken but I am never able to get it done right the traditional way. So i tried this and the chicken was so moist and tasty plus it was easy to make.
